Long-time political activist Jay Lassiter got his first taste of politics while canvassing for President Bill Clinton in 1996.

Jay arrived on the New Jersey political scene as a blogger and videographer for the popular political website BlueJersey.com.

Always the innovator, Jay went on to become the first credentialed State House blogger in the country covering the Trenton, NJ beat.

In 2008 Jay managed the online campaigns of Congressman Rob Andrews and NJ Senator John Adler's election efforts.  That year he was named a "rising star" by politickerNJ.com.

In 2009 Jay managed Governor Corzine's suburban field campaign in Burlington County, the largest of NJ's 21 counties.

In 2010 Lassiter Consulting was launched.  A full service political consulting and communications firm, Lassiter Consulting is thoroughly versed in the modern (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) and the traditional (direct mail, TV ads, webdesign.)

According to the Politicker.com, Lassiter tops Oprah.

"The Blue Jersey blogger is an iconoclast, tech savvy media artiste,
street warrior for marriage equality, and un-intimidated presence in the halls of Trenton power as he aggressively pursues liberal causes. He squeaked out the readers’ choice poll but would have made this year’s list either way."

Jay has served on the board of Sustainable Cherry Hill and Garden State Equality.

Jay now lives in Cherry Hill with his partner Greg and their libertarian cat.
